Baby Safety Monitors

Its been years since my Mother and my Grandmother lost children to what was then called Cot Death, now commonly known as Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS for short). Its a really painful thing to me personally to see the tears in my Mothers eyes when we talked about it.

“You don’t know how painful it is to lose a baby, If I had the technology back in my day I would have jumped at the chance!” – My Mother

After that bombshell my mother decided it was time to warn me that the genetics of SIDS could be inherited. Shocked and horrified Im thinking what can I do for my children. Well I guess I have the benefit of technology, in particular the potent force of Baby Safety Monitors which have improved immensely in the last few years.

When my friends announced their new arrival I went along with my mate to go Baby Monitor shopping. Being a bit of a gadget geek I was instantly intrigued by the technology now involved in monitoring your wee bundle of joy!

There are three main categories of Baby Safety Monitors and they include: Audio Monitors, Video Monitors and Sensory Monitors and of course combinations of the three.

Honestly its all a bit baffling but I have now come to terms with all the jargon and technology involved… and Im thinking while I have learnt all this stuff Id save you the trouble and just dish the dirt on what I purchased and why not all Baby Safety Monitors are created equal.
